KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Initiate, develop, lead, and supervise research projects within the relevant discipline
  • Publish original research in reputable peer-reviewed journals and other scholarly outlets
  • Provide academic leadership within the department, faculty, and institution
  • Supervise postgraduate (Master's and PhD) students from proposal to completion
  • Participate in curriculum development, review, and programme quality assurance
  • Contribute to departmental and faculty administration, including committee membership
  • Attract competitive research grants and foster research collaborations, nationally and internationally
  • Mentor and provide academic guidance to junior academic staff
  • Engage in community service and knowledge-transfer activities relevant to the discipline

Job Requirement

  • A doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in the relevant field from a recognised university is mandatory
  • A minimum of twelve (12) years of post-qualification experience in teaching and research in a university
  • An excellent and verifiable record of scholarly publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals and books
  • Demonstrated evidence of capacity to initiate, develop, and supervise research
  • Demonstrated capacity for academic and institutional leadership
  • Registration with the relevant professional body or bodies in the discipline is required
  • Evidence of successful supervision of postgraduate students to completion is an advantage
