Job Description

Amadeus University invites applications for the position of Senior Science Laboratory Technologist. The successful candidate will provide senior technical support for teaching and research activities across the University's science laboratories, overseeing laboratory operations and supervising junior technical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced technical support for laboratory practical sessions, research experiments, and demonstrations
  • Supervise and mentor junior laboratory technologists and technicians
  • Oversee the procurement, maintenance, calibration, and safe storage of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards, protocols, and relevant regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records of laboratory inventory, equipment, and usage logs
  • Assist academic staff in designing and setting up complex laboratory experiments and demonstrations
  • Troubleshoot equipment faults and coordinate repairs with relevant vendors or service engineers
  • Contribute to the development and review of laboratory safety procedures and manuals

Job Requirement

  • An Honours Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant science discipline from a recognised institution
  • A minimum of six (6) years of cognate post-qualification experience as a Science Laboratory Technologist
  • Demonstrated competence in managing laboratory operations in an academic or research institution
  • Computer literacy is mandatory; ability to use laboratory management and data recording systems
  • NYSC discharge or exemption certificate (or evidence of exclusion) where applicable
  • Strong supervisory, problem-solving, and organisational skills
