University Driver role generally encompasses the safe transportation of staff, students, and authorized visitors, alongside the maintenance and, sometimes, cleaning of university vehicles. This role requires strict adherence to traffic laws, defensive driving, and meticulous record-keeping of trips and fuel consumption. 

Job Requirement

Key Responsibilities and Tasks ·       
Safe Transportation: Drive university staff, officials, and authorized guests to designated destinations.

Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily checks (oil, water, battery, tires, brakes) to ensure the vehicle is safe for operation.
·       
Vehicle Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the assigned vehicle, both interior and exterior.
·       
Documentation: Daily check of all statutory vehicle papers and accurately log all trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, and service records.
·       
Safety Compliance: Ensure all passengers adhere to seatbelt regulations and obey all traffic rules and speed limits.

Logistics Support: Assist with delivering documents, mail, or goods as required.
·       
Reporting: Immediately report any accidents, traffic violations, or mechanical defects to the transport supervisor.

Security: Ensure the vehicle is locked, secured, and parked in authorized locations when not in use.
Required Qualifications and Skills ·       
Licensing: A valid, appropriate driver’s license held for several years.
·       
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of professional driving experience, preferably within an organization or university setting.
·       
Record: A clean driving record with no major violations.
·       
Mechanical Knowledge: Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform minor repairs (e.g., changing tires).

Communication: Good command of the local language and English (verbal and written) for reports.
·       
Personal Attributes: Reliable, punctual, professional, and possess good customer care skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ·       
Zero traffic accidents or violations.
·       
High level of cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle.
·       
Punctuality in transport services.
·       
Accurate, up-to-date documentation.
Restrictions ·       
Drivers must not transport unauthorized passengers or unauthorized items.
·       
Driving under the influence of alcohol or prohibited substances is cause for immediate termination.
·       
Use of cell phones while driving is strictly prohibited, except for hands-free devices in limited, work-related contexts.
